Dragons Elite Athletics to Hold Free Soccer Clinic Led by Professional Coaches and Sponsored by For A Bright Future Foundation in South Florida

Dragons Elite Athletics, one of South Florida’s most dynamic youth sports organizations has announced that they will be holding a soccer clinic led by Coach Louis Hernandez, Jr. And Coach Erick De Sousa, two professional level coaches under Dragons Elite Athletics. This clinic is designed for determined, high-potential athletes looking to sharpen their soccer skills by learning techniques from professional coaches who have taught and developed youth athletes at the professional and international level.

The free soccer clinic will be sponsored by For A Bright Future Foundation and will focus on honing core skills for boys and girls aged 8 to 13. Interested athletes may join the clinics on November 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Somerset Academy Canyons.

Dragons Elite is passionate about bringing their disciplined, development-focused approach to the thriving youth soccer scene in South Florida. These professionally coached soccer clinics will be led by professional coaches Louis Hernandez, Jr. and Erick De Sousa, licensed coaches with decades of professional coaching experience, who will guide aspiring soccer athletes with techniques and skills that can benefit their continued personal growth.

Louis Hernandez, Jr. is an experienced youth soccer coach with over 15 years of player development success at top competitive levels. At FSA FC, he coached U9–U16 teams including two seasons in ECNL, leading the 1995 Girls Premier team to a top 10 national ranking for three straight years and guiding the 1997 Girls Premier team to multiple tournament wins and three league titles. He also contributed as an assistant coach across boys and girls Premier Travel programs.

Hernandez also coached at SoccerPlus under legendary Women’s World Cup coach Tony DiCicco, serving as a lead technical coach for youth summer camps. Beyond the youth development space, Hernandez is founder of the Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPS) and owner/investor of the Boston Breakers from 2007 to 2018. Dedicated to community and competition, he chaired one of the largest youth travel tournaments at Glastonbury Hartwell 168-team tournament for three years, supporting the growth and passion of the game at the grassroots level. A majority of his former players, played D1 Soccer or professional soccer.

Erick De Sousa is a dedicated physical education teacher and multi-sport coach at Somerset Academy Canyons in Boynton Beach, FL, where he currently leads both the soccer and volleyball programs. Originally from Portugal, Erick brings international playing experience and a strong foundation learned under high-level national coaches. His background includes notable success at the club and school levels, both personally as a player and professionally as a coach.

With a degree in education, Erick is deeply committed to player development, focusing on teaching, character building, and helping young athletes succeed on and off the field. Personable, knowledgeable, and highly motivated, he strives to guide student-athletes to reach their fullest potential in sport and in life.
